Franz Mesmer; Animally Magnetic

mesmer

Today is the birthday of Franz Mesmer, astrologer, alchemist, doctor, inventor of ‘animal magnetism’, early practitioner of hypnosis & Gemini.

His main astro-signature would seem to be Moon in Aquarius trine Neptune in Gemini and Pluto in Libra; A Grand Air Trine…Also Uranus opposite the Neptune, Chiron conjunct South Node in Taurus and Mercury/Saturn.  The Wiki, above, is fascinating…

Thanks for this mystic – I have read a lot about this guy – and the other men of his era – fascinating people – blavatsky was around then too? One of my old friends was the great grand-daughter or niece or something of ernest rutherford the guy who split the atom – he was 100% into the whole chakras and energy thing – was a contemporary and I think friends of charles ledbeater the guy who published that famous old 1920s chakras book – and rutherfords sister set up a temple – the temple of higher thought. It’s fascinating. Science was allowed to be kooky then, now it’s so conventional and uptight (they have so much more to lose now they think they’ve proven things empirically) and makes outcasts of the peeps with new ideas.

And what about those men – the full moon men – there was a club of industrialists in 17 or 1800s england who would meet every full moon to discuss things – and the full moon was to light their way home but imagine the power they were harnessing while they talked no wonder they were so successful. Josiah wedgewood was one of them – they are all famous for something can’t remember the other names.

I was thinking about the very same group the other day. Cannot for the life of me remember the name. Met in the warwickshire/worcestershire area. They were the thinkers of the industrial revolution and virtually all of them became well known in their field. If anyone knows the name please post it. It’s really bugging me!

hey bloss, it’s the lunar society – even benjamin franklin was in on it apparently they all supported the french and american revolutions which is kinda weird considering they all had factories and workers themselves – and there were a few women in the “supper club” too which is gratifying lol wonder if it was ladies bring a plate? http://www.newstatesman.com/200210070039
