Trouble with genius is that it usually ‘takes one to know one’. How many times is a genius told to sit down shut up and stop talking nonsense.
The mention of Jinn reminds me of Arabian Nights one of the most brilliant anthologies I’ve read. The jinns were often quite troublesome as opposed to being genius in our understanding of the word. My ideas of true paradise were strongly influenced by those stories. -

James Hillman wrote a really brill book – easy reading for anyone – called The Soul’s Code, In Search of Character and Calling.. its all about our ‘genius’ in Plato’s sense of the word – daemon or spirit guide that comes into life with us. I recommend it
